Domain ownership and transfer policy
Last updated 14 October 2026
A domain you buy through Kadibi belongs to you. This page explains whose name it is registered in, what Kadibi does on your behalf, and how you can take it elsewhere at any time.
You own your domain
When you buy a domain through Kadibi, it is registered in the name and contact details you give at checkout. That person or business is the registrant: the legal owner of the domain, as recorded by the domain registry.
Kadibi is not the owner of your domain and does not become its owner at any point.
What Kadibi does for you
Kadibi buys and manages the registration on your behalf, as your agent, through Cloudflare Registrar, an accredited domain registrar. Specifically, we:
- register the domain for one year in your name, after you have paid
- set up its DNS so the domain and its www address open your Kadibi website with HTTPS
- remind you before the registration is due for renewal
- carry out your instructions about the domain, including moving it to you or to another registrar
Your contact details
Domain registries require the registrant's details to be accurate. Please give a real name, email address, phone number and postal address at checkout.
After registration, the registry or registrar may email the registrant to confirm the email address. Open that email and confirm it: a domain whose registrant email is not confirmed can be suspended.
Where the domain ending allows it, your details are hidden from public lookups. To change your details later, contact us through Help and support.
Payment, renewal and refunds
You pay for the first year before the domain is registered. If it cannot be registered, for example because someone else registered it first or the price changed, your payment is refunded in full.
Once a domain is registered it cannot be refunded, because the registration itself cannot be undone.
Before the registration expires, we contact you about renewing it. A domain is renewed only with your agreement and after you have paid for the renewal. If you choose not to renew, the domain expires at the end of its registration period.
Taking your domain elsewhere
You can ask us to hand your domain over to you at any time, from the Website & domain page of your dashboard or through Help and support. There is no charge from Kadibi for this. There are two ways to do it:
- Move it to your own Cloudflare account. You need a free Cloudflare account and approve the move from the email Cloudflare sends you. This is possible once the domain was registered more than 10 days ago and its registrant email is confirmed.
- Transfer it to another registrar of your choice. We give you the authorisation code to start the transfer there. Registries usually do not allow a newly registered domain to be transferred to another registrar during its first 60 days.
After a move, the registrar may lock the domain against further transfers for a short period. These waiting periods are set by the registrar and the registries, not by Kadibi.
We never hold your domain back
Kadibi will not refuse or delay handing over your domain because you stop using Kadibi, change your plan, or have an amount outstanding for other Kadibi services. Your domain is yours.
Keeping your website working after a move
When we hand over your domain, we give you the DNS records that connect it to your Kadibi website. Add them in your new account so your website keeps working on the domain. If you move your website away from Kadibi, point the domain wherever you like instead.
